Help keeping it together while addressing multiple problems?

Ha, it’s like the Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ says, ‘Success is my only …… option. Failure’s not.” It’s true though. I need help, not only keeping optimistic, but perhaps making a timeline on addressing these issues? I’m doing pretty well taking action, but I keep on having episodes. Like yesterday, I have two weird occurrences where I had such intense anxiety that I was completely disoriented and basically didn’t know what was going on. Other times I felt a physical hollowed out painful depression. These are happening closer and closer together. I’m keeping my head up, but I just need advice to keep on holding on.

This is what I’m working on:

Severe OCD
Co-dependency
An alcoholic loved one
Making sure that I don’t relapse with — Body Dysmorphic Disorder, depression or drug abuse
Trying to figure out a way to pay for my medication (I cannot work due to my issues, my mom pays for them — I live with her)
Managing diabetes type 1 that is currently uncontrolled
Getting back into school – taking one class in Spring semester – It’s only one class, but still. I have a lot going on right now
Panic attacks
Loneliness, because I have to push everyone way, because of my unhealthy state
Emotional instability
Fighting to not abuse my Klonopin (it’s addictive, but I need it for my panic attacks)
I also need to quit smoking soon and also start exercising (my health sucks)
Living with my mother who has an anxious temperament, tends to get angry (due to anxiety) — getting MUCH better though— about my OCD, has a lot of stress about money
People close to me really worried about me. People who I THOUGHT cared me about abandoning me.

What I’m doing:
Calling all of the therapists in the insurance network
Going to support groups 6/7 days of the weeks
Coping in healthy ways (music, sometimes talking to my best friend and boyfriend)
Had a recent medication adjustment
Going to church

I have been smoking on and off for about 3 years now, I say on and off as I’ve had several days in a row where I haven’t touched one but then might have a night out and smoke an entire pack! :S

Recently I just haven’t been buying them as I don’t feel the need, it’s as if my body naturally just quit by itself – the thought of having a cigarette nowadays makes me feel sick. So I thought I’d go the whole hog and quit altogether and not even have the occasional one like before.

But anyway! My question is does anybody know the effects of smoking on the voice? I’ve always had a slightly deeper voice than my female friends, and slightly husky, but I’m worried that it would get worse. I’ve also lost some of my singing range! I really would like it back. Does anybody know how long it might take?

Rheumatoid Arthritis – Dealing with it the natural way?

I have just been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. I have it in my right wrist and hand and my left knuckles so far. It is in its early stages and hasn’t been too painful yet, although my wrist can be very stiff some times and I am unable to lift heavy things without it being painful and my wrist feeling weak. I have read about the drugs prescribed by doctors and am not willing to try these until I have tried to control the illness through diet, exercise and dietary supplements. I am aware that damage will be done to my bones the longer I leave off treatment from the doctors and I am aware that a lot of the ‘Amazing’ herbal supplements advertised online will not work. I am willing to use the meds from the doctor if my pain or swelling should become unbearable, but not at this stage. I have quit smoking today, hoping that it will help. I have cut everything except veg, fruit, nuts, seeds, oily fish, green tea, fruit tea and water from my diet. I am using fructose instead of sugar as it seems to be a good alternative. What else can I do? If I could afford it I would hire the help of a nutritionist. Please if anyone out there has any knowledge of this subject, give me some advice.

my mom was diagnosed with emphysema last year. she has been unable to quit smoking cigarettes. I have seen some prognosis on the internet of 4 years, but looking through the answers here on YA! it seems there is more hope than that. she is not on oxygen or anything currently. they gave her a nebulizer and an inhaler but she “doesn’t need them yet”. I believe they said she was in stage 4. any personal experiences?

By paying up to $750, GE was able to get 15% of a group of smoking employees to quit smoking AND be tobacco free 1 year later, triple the rate of unpaid. Will the US government begin paying smoking Medicaid and Medicare recipients to quit smoking by June?
The paid group got higher payments the longer they did not smoke.
GE expects to recoup costs of the smoking cessation program in 3-5 years from savings in healthcare.
Is this something that you think may help the cost of health care or not? Should the government take this posture?
